SONGS BY BETH
Two songs, and a Christmas musical, decades apart.
Beth wrote the lyrics, the Valley Creative Teams, Worship team and her son-in-law Zack Spangler brought them to life.
WRITTEN 1982
The Rosebush
Written during a spiritually dry season, the year after Beth graduated from Boston University. Decades later, Zack surprised the family by setting it to a melody and singing it one Sunday.
WRITTEN 2017
Surrounded
Written late night one night in Berlin and finished with the Valley Worship team in 2018. It is based on a prayer Jeff and Beth prayed over their kids as they grew up.
WHAT IF JESUS HAD BEEN BORN IN THE 1960'S?
Retro: A Christmas Musical
Written in 2003 after Beth saw The Menopause Musical she was inspired to tell the Christmas story through parodied lyrics. With the help of the Valley Creative Team, a talented cast of 7, live band of 5, the gospel of Luke, 15 parodied-oldies, bell bottom jeans and a little choreography, the Retro Christmas Musical production was an evangelistic hit at Valley Family Church for nearly 10 years!
