about: the basics with beth
The Basics With Beth is a nonprofit Bible-teaching ministry founded and led by Beth Jones, pastor, author, and Bible teacher. The ministry exists to help people (especially beginners) understand the Bible clearly, grow in their faith confidently, and develop a strong foundation in God’s Word.
For over three decades, Beth Jones has served alongside her husband, Jeff Jones, as a co-founding pastor of Valley Family Church, teaching the Scriptures with clarity, warmth, and practical application. As a longtime Bible teacher and author of more than 20 Bible study books—translated into over 25 languages—Beth is passionate about making the truth of Scripture accessible to people at every stage of their faith journey.
The heart of The Basics With Beth is simple: teach the Bible in a way people can understand and apply to everyday life. Through video teachings, Bible studies, mentoring, and digital resources, the ministry focuses on the foundational truths of the Christian faith—who God is, what the Bible teaches, and how believers can live anchored in truth.
Whether you are new to the Bible or seeking to go deeper, The Basics With Beth exists to help you build a solid faith—one biblical truth at a time.
The Basics With Beth is led exclusively by Beth Jones and is not affiliated with Beth Moore or any similarly named ministry. This work reflects Beth Jones’ personal calling to equip, encourage, and strengthen believers through sound biblical teaching.
Beth has been married to her husband Jeff for 40 years, and together they have 4 children and 10 grandchildren.

"The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory. It’s that simple. That is the substance of our Message. We preach Christ, warning people not to add to the Message. We teach in a spirit of profound common sense so that we can bring each person to maturity. To be mature is to be basic. Christ! No more, no less. That’s what I’m working so hard at day after day, year after year, doing my best with the energy God so generously gives me."
Colossians 1:27-29, Message
