The Basics With Beth is a nonprofit Bible-teaching ministry founded and led by Beth Jones and an outreach of Valley Family Church. We make learning God's Word a joy - teaching the Bible clearly, practically, and creatively. We’re passionate about helping people, from seekers to brand-new believers to seasoned Christians, know Jesus, get grounded in God’s Word, and put their faith to work in everyday life.

MEET BETH
Pastor, author & Bible teacher
For over three decades, Beth has served alongside her husband, Jeff, as a co-founding pastor of Valley Family Church, teaching the Bible with clarity, humor and practical application. Through pastoring, writing, teaching and creative projects her signature work is to help people get the basics of a relationship with Jesus; live the life the richness His Word offers and do the stuff of sharing the good news with others.
Beth and Jeff have been married for 40 years and have 4 children and 10 grandchildren.

And if there is anything I have learned along the way, it is this: I didn’t do any of this alone.
First and always, I give my greatest thanks to Jesus. Every dream, every opportunity, every open door, every lesson, and every bit of fruit has ultimately come from Him. He has been faithful through every season, and I am deeply aware that whatever good has come from my life and ministry is because of His grace.
I also owe an enormous debt of gratitude to my husband, Jeff, my partner in life, ministry, adventure, and more than four decades of marriage. So much of what we have built has been built together. My children and their spouses have also shaped me, encouraged me, challenged me, and cheered me on in ways they probably will never fully know.
And then there are the countless people God has placed in my life along the way—pastors, mentors, friends, staff members, volunteers, colleagues, ministry partners, prayer warriors and faithful people who simply believed in me. Some gave me an opportunity. Some gave me wisdom. Some gave me a needed correction. Some carried a load when I was tired. Some prayed when I didn't know what to pray. Others simply showed up, year after year, decade after decade (and you know who you are!) and helped make the impossible seem possible.
I stand on the shoulders of so many people.
So while this website may have my name on it, the story is filled with the fingerprints of hundreds—really thousands—of people who have loved me, believed in me, taught me, worked alongside me, prayed for me, and helped me become who I am. I am profoundly grateful.
Whatever I have accomplished, I didn't accomplish alone. It has been Jesus, and it has been us—together.
